I completely concur. But more accurately I'd say he would have been a socialist.

Note that, while Jesus believed in God, he was both economically and socially a Communist. He didn't believe that any of the people should govern over each other. Take the Pharises for example. Jesus didn't think that they should be a ruling body.

I agree with malinhion, mostly. Disregarding the fact that Jesus had Godliness, where Communism is atheistic, Jesus does seem to preach equality for all. He says several times to "Sell what you have and give the money to the poor. Then follow me," and that it will be difficult for the wealthy to reach Heaven. And, of course, he preached that all are equally condemned, but all also share the same opportunity for salvation.

Socialism, on the other hand, gives the power to the working class and does not give equal wages.

However, associating Jesus with the Communist regime would be taking it a little too far. Jesus had more in mind than just leveling the playing field materialistically.

Also after a second thought....

Jesus was very religious.
Communism is almost entirely based on atheism.
So, I say he was more for a socialist outlook.
But really, I imagine he had his own theory on government.
